Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services

Mission Statement: Caledon\Dufferin Victim Services offers 24-hour, seven day a week, short-term crisis support, practical assistance, information and is a referral program to victims of crime, tragic circumstance and disaster.

Mandate: The goal of the service is to assist emergency service providers in meeting the emotional and practical needs of victims, to connect them with appropriate community services, and to provide follow-up contact to ensure the victim has received and will continue to receive assistance, if required.

Objectives of Service: To ensure victimized individuals, their families, and witnesses receive "immediate" support subsequent to their involvement following crime, tragedy, or disaster. Police based and volunteer driven, the agency provides a confidential service offering emotional support and practical assistance, thus limiting the effects of crisis and helping victims quickly return their lives to a desired degree of stability.
