Caledon Meals on Wheels


"Meals and more – feeding the community spirit"

MEAL SERVICES:
Hot Meals:  delivered by a volunteer at noontime, Monday to Friday throughout Town of Caledon (and parts of Dufferin, Peel and York adjacent to borders) $4.75 each (entrée, soup/juice and dessert);  includes a Short Visit and Safety Check.

Frozen Meals:delivered monthly in bulk to your door - choose from an extensive menu - $4.75 each (entrée, soup, dessert)

Volunteer Visiting Services:  (no fee) Friendly in-home visits by screened volunteers; Telephone chats and check-ups; Monthly Card Party and luncheon (nominal fee)

Social Lunches: Enjoy a Meal - Meet a Friend - Day Trips to interesting and entertaining places (nominal fee based on individual activity)

S.M.I.L.E. (Simple Movement to enhance Independent Living for the Elderly and disabled).  Volunteers conduct a one-on-one, ten step, in-home exercise program to improve and maintain flexibility, blance and strength in clients.

The above services are offered to adults requiring short or long term assistance with daily meals or those who enjoy a friendly visit or a social gathering or wishing to increase flexibility and balance. 

Eligibility is open to persons experiencing any of the following:

  • Seniors and the frail Elderly
  • Chronic Illness or Disability or Convalescing
  • Undergoing Medical Treatment
  • Coping with family illness (meal assistance for caregivers)
  • Family crisis
  • Occasional relief from shopping and meal planning
